Cuda quarter
« on: March 29, 2015 - 01:57:22 AM »
I finally got my Cuda into my shop today and started considering exactly what the car will need. I have never done body work before so maybe somebody that is more experienced can give some advice. Looking at the existing bondo, it looks like it goes pretty high....nearly to the roof. My questions are this: does anybody produce a rear 1/4 that will extend that high? Am I probably going to end up replacing the 1/4's AND the roof on this car? Yes it will be blasted or acid dipped before I start...just trying to get an idea. My friends are saying that I should tackle the metal-work myself....it should be fun!   :1zhelp:

I advise against acid dipping. It will remove sealants/dum dum between panels you cant re do.
Sand blasting the car would be best.
If your car is very rust free like mine was, you can strip it outside by hand with paint remover followed by metal prep.

Learning metal work takes a little time.
Many here including myself as self taught. Youtube and autobody forums are great resources.
