new to site, Looking for info on 70 R/T
« on: March 29, 2015 - 08:11:58 PM »
Hi guys, I'm Tim from Alberta, Canada and occasionally Phoenix. last year I bought a '70 challenger R/T and am trying to find some info on it. right now the car is a body with about 6 tubs & 3 Pallets of parts, but I think it's got good potential. it's a JS23U Code Car with a FJ5 paint code, auto Trans. not sure how popular that combo was back in '70, I bought the car as an R/T but not completely sure what makes the car an "RT" car? also, it has some SE features. I've been looking for production numbers for this car, and any information that you guys could give would be much appreciated. as soon as I finish off a Superbee I started, I want to get going on this challenger. thanks for your help.

Welcome to the site. You   You will find plenty of help, here.   Show us more pics of the SE items.  I will get to the desktop, and see what I can help you with as you ask some questions.   At this point, if your car is a u code, with the 727 auto, is an SE, then there were 733 made with that combo.  I have one too.  Later, David

Hello back Guys! nice to hear from people in the know, here is the fender tag, minus some of the sequence numbers, I bought the car out of Gillette Wyoming last summer, if anybody has any history of this car? or can tell me if this would be a real R/T?  or possibly an R/T SE?

      An RT/SE would be a JS29 not a JS23.

Yes, it is an R/T, the S designates it as an R/T. Have fun with it.
