So... here are some pics. You can see that there are 1970 and 1971 seat belts used. They don't even match as pairs.    :faint:

So... here are some pics. The buckles are all push button, but you can see that 1970 and 1971 belt straps were used. They don't even match as pairs.    :faint:

There are NO 1970 belts in those pictures, and the belts all match as they should for 1971.  Your car is an older built car, as is evidenced by the dates on those seat belts and by the type of seat backs, I would say Feb, 1971 or later.  The console has been replaced from the original.

My hardtop did not come with seat belts when I purchased it so I couldn't refer to it for any comparison.

And the reason I am looking for correctness is because I want to.

I have most of the belts that you are needing, they are ORIGINALS, both hardtop and convertible.

A93  -  Thank you for your input, but if the console was changed it was before we picked it up at the Dealership, as we ordered this car in Apr/Mar of 71 and have never changed it.
It's funny you should focus on it because we always just the ashtray was missing and not that the console was incorrect.  Now the question is, do we change it to make it "correct" or I guess if we were to keep the car as survivor it would be wrong to change it.  Ahh, now there's the rub.

The only thing changed by us is the driver side fender

I changed my post to say all the buckles are 71 push style, it is the straps that have different dates on them.

The 1970 console was used in the 1971 production year, I assume until there were no more left. If it is the original then it is correct for your car and changing it would be the wrong thing to do.  It has date codes on it in three different places, one on the bottom half, one on the top half and one on the bottom of the door, under the hinge area. Those three dates will correspond to the SPD on your fender tag.

If you can provide pics of the belts you have (and any retractors) for sale, I would appreciate it and perhaps purchase some from you.
