71 cuda wanted
« on: April 02, 2015 - 12:48:12 AM »
I am looking for a 71 cuda that is around 50K or less. I have a hard time finding any listings online. It doesn't necessarily have to be matching numbers, but I'd like to have a real BS23 car. Preferably one that is already restored unless it is an fc7 car or fj6. I plan having it as a driver, not a show car or anything. I'd like it to have mostly original parts, but its no big deal if it's not completely stock. Also 4 speed would be nice. Is this reasonable for my price range? I just need help finding one.

Be patient, a four speed car will turn up.
Your budget should get you a decent 4 speed 71 Cuda.

Been toying with selling mine, but its a clone, and its an FJ5, and an original 318 BH car.
Regardless, one reason I'm thinking about it is because they seem to be commanding good money right now.
I love it, but have my eye on some other opportunities. I'm going to start studying the market real close because if I do decide to sell it will be soon.
Good luck with your search. These are really cool cars, and they are the king of every cruise in and show you take it too. Not that I care about that stuff so much. It can be a hassle having to answer a bunch of questions when I just want to get some gas on the corner, but thats the territory.

Anything unusual about the dash vin plate on the ebay car? Not too concerned with wrong rivets, but it looks different.

Thanks for the help guys. I think I just need to wait for the right one to show up. I don't see 71's up for sale very often anywhere, but I was just wondering, do you think I might be able to find one for sale at Carlisle?
