Injected molded doors panels from Legendary
« on: April 03, 2015 - 10:17:51 AM »
Hi all,

I see that Legendary Interiors sells injection molded door panels. I need a set of white ones for my Challenger. Their PN is DO70CJ0MM12200N and sell for $628 a pair. My question is whether these are like (or are the same ones) that Metro was selling. Has anyone purchased a set from Legendary? Can you comment on the quality relative to the originals? Also I need the panel without the holes punched out for the wood grain insert. I have an early production car which does not have the wood grain insert. The photos on the website show panels without holes. I spoke to someone at Legendary and asked the above questions but the person was just yessing me and did not appear to be knowledgeable. He said that there is a four month lead time so I want to make sure I am getting with I want/need.

Thanks

I would like to know too. I have non wood grain panels and need burnt orange but have been holding off until I can find a review on the quality.

I don't believe the panels YearOne sells are Metro panels. They used to sell the crappy Palco panels.

If you need The best panels, look no further then Dave at Roseville Moparts :2thumbs:

Call Legendary and ask them who the manufacture is.  I think Dave might have been out of the white Challenger panels...or was it Cuda?

do you know if the grain is right and if the fitment is good. I remember a while back folks complaining about both of those issues. Not necessarily with Dave but I cannot remember the vendor

The Palco brand is what you need to stay away from.  The Metro panels have the correct grain and fit from what I have read.

Come to think of it....I think the Metro panels all have holes for the woodgrain inserts :dunno:

Yes, they do.  I remember some people asking for them to come NOT punched so they would be correct for very early 70's.  Maybe someone needs to talk to Dave about that if he is putting in another order for them.

I'm working with mine right now. Got them from Dave. They look great but I'm having to do a lot of filing the edges to get the woodgrain inserts to sit in deep enough. Haven't tried mounting them on yet.

I have the same problem, other than that, the fit on the rears is perfect and the grain is spot on. I haven't tried the front panels yet but I sure they are perfect as well......

Legendary is selling the Palco brand.
I bought seat backs last year from them when I did my interior. I had to send them back then buy Metro.

Who is the manufacturer of the panels that Metro sells (or uses to sell)? I thought Metro was a distributor. I went to the Roseville Mopar site and the Challenger panels are listed, but appear to have the holes in the wood grain insert area.

I could be wrong but I think only the colour panels are discontinued. Black are still available.
