    Just removed another Power Master not less than an hour ago. Was only 2 years old and likely less than 100 starts. Ordered a MSD yesterday - we'll see how that turns out.

    Iuse ones from the wreckers , $20 used , change the contacts for $5 & they last !

    I bought this one through Amazon and it has been good so far. From UR Quality Solutions
    She cranks and sounds good without any fuss. Most Parts store starters I've had always end up sounding like crap.

    I have hedman headers I wanted to use and I could not fit a mini starter but could fit an oem starter....go figure. If the motor is out, test fit while on the stand whatever you use.

    Thanks for the input guy's. I  put a new 499 in my 71 Charger R/T and installed my old Tilton Super Starter that has been in the car for 20 years.I went to crank the motor over and it was cranking good almost had the motor running for the first time installed in my car.Then the starter stopped fully engaging.Pulled it out and checked everything .Everything looked good so reinstalled samething happened.So looking into just replacing the starter.Had sent it into Tilton 13 years ago for rebuild but they do not offer that service anymore.Ken at Tilton did refer me to a shop but daid that any Starter/Alternator rebuild dhop can rebuild them as long as they are  familar with the Hitachi Starters. Thanks guys

    is the starter for the 90-93  Dakota ...  the right one for my 340 cui engine ?

    I Think I need a new starter in the very near future...because the downpipes are very very ´close the the OEM starter, and when the engine is hot...the starter seems to be a little  weak...

    I used the one out of a Dakota from NAPA lifetime for my 383 fit well after you remove the side cover for the terminals.

    ..so if I want to use this starter..I have to modify the terminals ? right ?

    I am asking, because I live in Germany...so if I order some parts from the US  ...the Transport is the main issue   :(

    I found starters on the rockauto webside ... from REMY   DELCO   BOSCH aso..

    Look at the above picture.  That is the style of starter used on the Dakota's and Ram's.  The black piece that has the terminals on it can be removed from the starter.  There is a plastic cover that you pop off to un bolt that piece.  Then, your stock starter wiring will connect to what's left.
