Less than $20 from the scrapyard. Original Mopar on a Dakota P/U. Works just fine. May have to remove the plastic thingy, which is just an electrical extender/relocator/adapter. The original posts on the starer are inside of it.
At that price, you can buy 2-3-4 and have spares for when the original fails. STILL saving money on those high dollar ones. The Junk yard ones work as good as the new high dollar ones. For hundreds less.
On that note, I bought a Powermaster High Output Alternator for my Suburban.Bearings went out in the original. Maybe 10 years ago. It has served me well. I put in an Optima Red Top battery in 2001? Maybe 2000, which I bought in '98 or so.
It is STILL going strong! lol. I can't believe it. My everyday driver. Been ran down a few times, jump started a few vehicles, and it keeps going. Severe cold, severe heat, long range short range - no matter what, it has kept going.
I hear the new ones aren't as good? no idea if that's true. I'm a believer in them, for sure.
