Thanks!

Would you use any fuel-rated gasket/sealer on grommet where it marries with tank?

 No

:iagree: I use a little bit of brake lubricant which is designed for rubber parts, and that's it.

Someone else suggested regular Vaseline .. is that ok too?

Tried this morning to do it myself with help from wife ... even with everything completely off (and trying to be very, very careful of lining up at proper angle, not nicking stuff with tank, etc, etc) ... really need someone bit stronger either holding tank or inserting neck ....

Will say this ... ain't no way this one is leaking ..... it's freakin tight ... have to wait til neighbor gets home from work ... "Hey .. Mike .... got a second ... "   :grinno:

Thanks for all help!!!

Did you try the dish soap?  If you use just a little bit of water on it, there is nothing slipperier.

One more (I hope just one more) question.

Tank back up and in with neck (I'll leave it at that ...  )

The J-strap bolt and fitment piece ... am I putting it back on right (see pics below) .... don't have much threads left on j-bolt and there's decent amount of strap slack still under tank ... (probably need to re-loosen and pull back) ... if I have it backwards .. it would push out the nut and give me more threads but then the curvature of it doesn't seem right ( .... leave statement for what its worth lol) ...

Do I have it backwards?

That black rectangle piece does not belong there.
If I had to guess, I would say that's a reinforcement plate for the rear bumper guard.

Hmmm .. weird ... they had it on there ...  ::)

So just put washer (maybe with lock washer) and nut .. that is all need?

Thanks again - very much !!!
