Speedo Cable length Question ?

Do they make different length speedometer cables for Mopars ?
I built a 1971 Challenger that I installed a Tremec 5spd in. The Tremec kit comes with an speedometer cable adaptor that is about 20" inches long or more.
When adding that adaptor to the factory cable, it now becomes way too long. To make matters worse, I think the customer supplied one of those generic "one size fits all" cables which was longer then factory to begin with.

My question is: Do they make a cable that would be quite a bit shorter then the factory E Body cable ? If so, how do I go about ordering it ? They're not sold by length, I would need a make/model/year to order ?

go to rock auto they give description of the length and what endz are on the cable. I just bought one that was about 6" longer than the one my cuda normally takes. I moved my speed-o to a different place on my dash so I needed a little longer cable . You will have to punch in a lot of differnt models and years but you will eventually find what you need

I figured my ideal length would be around 40" give or take.

Can anybody tell me if the thread size on a cruise control module is the same as the transmission ?

I've found a 40" Chrysler speedometer cable listed as the "upper" cable for cars with cruise control. I know the speedometer end is the same, just wondering if the threaded end would work ?

Where are you routing the cable? The routing goes from the firewall (inside about 8 inches) through the firewall to the left near the front stub rail and follows that under the car and then loops to the transmission.  I think the cable is about 6 inches longer than the stock unit at around 60 inches in I remember correctly.

The stock cable for a Cuda/Challenger is 62". The adaptor cable that American Powertrain provides is 21".
There are generic Mopar cables that are 80" as well. I think my customer, at the time, supplied one of those 80" ones, I won't know for sure because I don't have the car here, either way, the combination of the two cables is either 83" or 101" in the car now. Way too long and he's complaining it's noisy .

I thought if one of these 40" cruise control cables, along with the adaptor cable would give me 61" which would be perfect....I just don't know if the cruise control cable end is the same thread size as a standard Cuda/Challenger cable.
