TEST - Member List - Northeast US
« on: April 12, 2015 - 01:39:06 PM »
We talked about doing this while I was in Saudi, but we never reached a consensus. This is a test to see what people think of dividing the Member List so we can continue adding too it without losing anything, and add the international members back. Post some comments.

This list represents the red states on this map:

My notion is according to the map, and then another topic for International, for a total of 5. That should let people keep adding for a long time. I'm open to suggestions, though, and I can change the map.

Only thing I can think of adding would be pins to show locations on the map.

Did you guys move Alaska ? Dam, that must have been a lot of work...:roflsmiley:

I'm curious as to how many CDN members, so I think breaking it up is a good idea.... :canada: :2thumbs:

One suggestion though....Instead of cutting and pasting from the original list, I think we should start over, that way the list will only include "ACTIVE" members.....I hardly recognize any names on the test list you posted :2cents:

I think a lot of people join, post a few times, like the idea of posting to the ember list so they do...and then they disappear. I see your point, but my issue with restarting the lists would be that a lot of people might just decide against participating. I've updated my entry 6 times now, so it's not that hard

I've been here relatively a short time...I notice a lot of people join to place an ad, and then don't even come back to answer questions :screwy:

What do other folks think? should we start over with the lists and rebuild them?

One thing I'll add is that a number of folks have had trouble figuring out the list and how to use it. They've quoted instead of copying and pasting, they've just typed their names and locations alone instead of adding them to the list, etc.

Time for a re-do.
Maybe people should have a min number of posts before being able to offer items for sale in the classifieds if that seems to be an issue.

I found this interesting thinking about people who join and never come back....
At that new CDN Mopar web site you can view the member list by "post count"
That site only has 161 members total, half of Canada's population....
Out of those 161 members, 49 have a "0" post count, joined but never even posted to say hello :screwy:
Another 61 Members have 5 or less post count.....not very impressive....

I agree that it's disheartening, but honestly every group I've ever been part of has been similar. About 10% of the membership is active, and about 10% of that is really active, and about 10% of that takes an administrative role. If you look through our member lists that vast majority of people have a small number of posts.

I just did that...There's a lot of ZEROS....."Member since 2011" and a 0 post count :screwy:
If it uses up the sites bandwidth ...I say dump them... :2cents:

Lots of people choose to just 'lurk 'n' learn' rather than post. :2cents:
