should have a bit better power at light throttle, I would think.  If it is still blowing black smoke, you may want to take it a bit leaner yet.

  Intake valve stem seals? Oil leakdown can cause black smoke at startup, too...

What makes you think more lean than two stages will give more power; there has to be a limit?  I know, try it and see; right?

Let me try this once again.

By going leaner, the car should have picked up a little power.  That means in the past tense.  After you made the changes that you did, the car should have picked up a little power.  Whether you wanted more power, or not, is not the question...it is just a fact.

Now, you also said it is  blowing less black smoke.  To me, I took this to mean it is still blowing some black smoke so this would indicate that the car is still on the rich side.  Therefore I said you could take it a bit leaner-meaning it was your choice.   This was to try to further reduce the black smoke.

Ah, I see; I thought you meant it should have a bit better better power than it does now, after I made the changes; I thought you watched the video of it and determined that. 
Yes, it does have more power than it did before. The video shows the exhaust now; it is vastly improved over what it was.

Yes, it definitely helped in exhaust quality, and I did (I did not expect it) gain a bump in power. Thanks to all who offered advice; now I won't have to change carbs.  Edey carbs might not be junk after all.

Did you have to change a gasket when you pulled the carb apart for the jets?

No; the old one was fine and was not stuck to either side but if they get torn or are deteriorated then they would need replacement. This carb is only 7 months old.

you should virtually no black smoke , maybe grey when you floor it , lean it more & watch plug color

It will be easy to go to "3 stages" lean, just by re-installing the original rods and leaving the .092 jet in. I assumed you watched the video.

Looks more like white or blue smoke than black smoke, based on what I think I see in the video.
