OE exhaust tips pics
« on: April 13, 2015 - 02:36:31 PM »
Does anyone have pictures of true OE exhaust tips from a dual exhaust 73 challenger?

The ones on mine now have been replaced and need replaced again.  I'm trying to find some closest to OE

OE tips were pretty crappy looking.  Look at how wavy these are.

The reproduction stainless tips are a lot nicer in this respect however, the corners are too squared off and the "tips" are welded too far apart.  :2cents:

the only thing that could possibly make this better is if the car was a slant 6.

Not sure if they're what came from the factory but the tips on my wife's 71 R/T Challenger were bought at the Dodge dealership parts dept. in the mid 70's and have spot welds with crappy build quality.

Here's mine. Original 73 challenger 340 tips. Not the best pics (cell phone). The waviness at the bottom of the tips is from me trying to remove them from the mufflers. The original chrome is  better than the PG classic tips I have now.

Sorry for the blurry pics. I didn't realize how bad some were until I posted....

Thanks for all the pics.  I found some OE on flea-bay for a decent price and got them.   Much better than the aftermarket that someone had put on there.
