Does anyone know what the bolts on the front and rear of the shifter body are for and why some have them and some do not

They're just adjustable stoppers. None of the factory shifters used by Chrysler had them.

Got the old shifter working good it was a adjustment thing . New problem now . I'm putting down a new thermo shield under the carpet . Does anyone know how to get the boot over the handle without tearing the boot . I put it on but it is not coming back to me ? Thank You

Unbolt the shifter handle and put the shifter handle thru the top of the boot and rebolt in the handle.
