The forged 273 crank is balanced differently than the 318 cast crank.

I will have the whole rotating assembly balanced before it is installed.

Definitely get ARP main studs and head studs too, if anything just for piece of mind. MLS head gasket should be just fine at lower boost levels, and get a cam with a wide LSA like 114 or higher.

I already have a cam, it is a 112 LSA but I am planning a minimum of boost. Only 5-7 psi, and I will have it fuel injected so that should help with that. Turns out I won't be using the centrifugal supercharger as procharger never got back to me. So I will be using a roots blower.

I'd double check that the 273 crank will bolt up to the 318 converter etc. I seem to remember there to be some differences between the two. Also, I run a 318 cast crank in my 340 with no issues; And I am not gentle. It's not 500hp or boosted, but she's no slouch either. :)

It appears that the 273 has a different sized register, but according to info I've found it is easy enough to have the machine shop bore it out to the proper size.

Good ideas but I would get ARP head bolts not studs or if you have to take the heads off in the future you will be cursing trying to get the left head off the studs.

I am definitely planning on using ARP hardware wherever I can. I want to make sure that this thing is done right from the beginning lol.
