new start
« on: April 16, 2015 - 11:26:11 AM »
hey guys, how`ve you all been?
finally got some things going here, so I thought I`d give a little update.

First thing done after the Cuda was sold, was a new floor in the shop/garage. I made a few mounting points for my tools so I can easily switch them out or remove them if I need space. Takes about 5 minutes to make room for a car if needed.... not that I have a car...  ::)

Gotta love those guys that love their profession and do their best to make something nice  :clapping:

fast forward....

 time spent making tools

Started off building a tank for an old custom knucklehead.  First tank ever.... nothing easy on building tanks  :1zhelp:
Not my design but I`ve seen the rest of the bike and I`m sure it will look bada$$ once done.

Did some other stuff after that , but right now I`m doing a resto on a Jaguar E-type hood / front section, which includes both fenders, airducts etc.  Here`s the start of making the flexible shape patterns to help me make the new panels later on.  Nice... but I`d rather be working on an E-BODY hood...  :walkaway:

so, all in all I`m doing ok, but still having a hard time accepting things are the way they are   :P
I guess the only thing to do is punch out a whole lotta fueltanks and get another Cuda....  :violin:

Nice!! Maybe the reason the concrete guys took extra pride in their work is because they see the quality of your creativeness...  First I was impressed with the hammer head... Then the Harley tank which really has a cool look to it... The E type front clip is  :drooling bounce: Maybe you should just buy some sheet metal & build your own Cuda... You could give it more exaggerated lines like some of the artists cartoon creations..

You've been a busy guy. I checked up on you this morning and it said - Last active: January 19th, now I know why.
Keep the pics coming of your projects. Good to hear from you again.

You're an artist, man!
Can't be that many shops around your area that are doing metal works like this...

Good luck, Dutch!

Man Bart, now I REALLY feel tough about not being able to shake the family and get up to see you! I don't know if it's something to do with being Dutch, but my father-in-law, from Waalweg area, is also a craftsman- only he worked in wood, learning his trade in the wood boat building business in Holland. What a wonderful ability- to make the tools that allow you to make the parts and then, to make such nice ones! Dat is mooi! Hope all's well with you and yours. If we get back to NL before too long, I'll make a point of coming to see you. Tot ziens!  :2thumbs:
