'70 Barracuda rear seat cover...
« on: April 23, 2015 - 04:04:51 PM »
I bought a new rear seat cover for my '70 Barracuda from Year One. It looks different than the old one. Is it possible the old ones were from a  Challenger?

It's possible the old seat was from a Pinto  :roflsmiley: :roflsmiley:

Here is a picture for you upholstery experts. Hope it is large enough for the detail to help the OP. He forwarded the picture to me and I re-sized it and posted for some help.

Yeah, the pic is the old one I need to replace. Is this a Cuda or a Challenger cover? The Year One replacement looks a lil different.

The rear seat you have is out of a 1974 Cuda/Challenger

Thanks, guys. I emailed YearOne to see if I could exchange it but I've had it several months. If anyone needs a set of new covers ( '70 rear set ) I'll make a good deal on 'em.

If you have a 70 Barracuda and the rear seat cover you bought is for a 70 Barracuda, then why don't you want to use it ? I'm confused :clueless:

Okay...is the picture you sent us of the rear seat in your car, or of the new seat cover you bought ?

I'm sorry, if I sound confused...

That's the cover that's on it. The bottom has seam tears so I wanted to replace it. Being  a '70 I ordered a new one but the cover is different. 😕

Very likely someone picked up a newer set of seats and installed them in the 70. If you have a Barracuda and ordered seat covers for a 70, then they are more correct than what you are replacing. Chances are the front may have been changed as well. Keep the info coming and we will get it sorted out for you. Alan is an excellent go to guy.  :2thumbs:

Thank you...Now I'm assuming that you have the wrong seats BOTH FRONT AND REAR in your car, if your car is a 70 Barracuda. Your new covers are for the rear only, and they don't match what you currently have in the car, and if you install them they won't match the front seats ? Correct ?

These are correct 1970 Barracuda/Cuda seats. :2cents:
