In Saudi I had very few programming options in English, and one of the regularly available shows was Counting Cars, so I watched that. After a while, I just started going into Al Khobar and getting $1 bootleg DVDs of the latest movies, though

As much as I hate to say it, its the same reason anyone watches football, or dance shows.... some people find it entertaining. To each his own.
Regarding car shows.... I watch because I think some are funny, and second, some of them are informative. They are reality shows though, so the scripting is something you just have to deal with. Like all of hollywood, it ISNT real....its entertainment.
After a long day of work, I like watching wheeler dealers, and the stupid antics at gas monkey, graveyard cars, fat and furious and even the idiots at misfit. Heck, those guys, Thomas specifically, I think its hilarious how they talk to some guy Thomas is buying from who wants $10k for his car (and says he's a good negotiator)  ::) then Thomas offers him $2500, and the guy says no, how about $5k  ::) and then Thomas says, well, Maybe $3k, and the guys finally says, how about $3200, and they agree. ::) ::) ::) :sly:
Then Thomas puts $100 and a couple hours into the car and flips it for $10k  :eek7: :eek7: :grinno:

O.K. can we all agree these shows are better than watching "American Idol" or any other "reality" show. It may not be any more real but at least there's some cool cars.

Afterall they cancelled "Baywatch" years ago......didn't really have much of a story but NOBODY CARED!!!!

I really miss "The Man Show" especially Girls jumping on trampolines NOW THAT WAS ENTERTAINMENT!!!!!

Watching the 71 Cuda episode now... painful to watch and listen to. Sure seems like no one on TV knows crap about Mopars. As for why I watch these shows, I agree they are better than survivor or something. I did notice when they brought the seats to Sue, she had a 71 RR or Satellite in the shop (green one). Sue is saying it takes "months" to redo the seats, call Legendary and redo the seats in a weekend... Oh and how everything is so rare, hard to come by, etc... stupid..
Current Mopar
70 Challenger RT 440-6 EFI, 73 Cuda 416-6 EFI
05 Hemi Durango, 01 Ram 4x4, 14 Ram 2500 4X4, 10 PCP Challenger 6 spd RT, 01 Viper GTS ACR, 52 B3B w/330 Desoto Hemi, 70 Hemi RR (under const)
Past Mopars
9 x Challengers. AAR Cuda, 4 RR, 2 GTX, 4 Chargers, etc... (too many to list)

I had this conversation with a friend yesterday. He knows someone with an antique shop. "Pickers" came in and did a segment. Before the cameras rolled they had decided which items they would dicker on, what they would buy at what price, what ones they would not come to a price agreement on, etc. They loaded up the van and it drove away. When the cameras quit rolling the van came back and unloaded it all. The guy got a few hundred bucks for closing his shop down for the day.

Thats interesting.  I'll have to talk to the retired Judge down here in Kissimmee that they picked. See if the same thing happened. It's one of my favorite shows as I've learned alot watching it.
