Hello everyone,
Dan here from Cleveland Ohio. Just found out about the web site. I recently scored a 70 cuda factory 440 automatic BS car. Burnt Orange with black bucket interior, luggage rack, with 55k on the odometor. I've known about the car for quite some time as it was owned by a good friend of mine. He bought it quite awhile ago from the original owner which was his uncle, he brought it home and tore it completely apart, there it sat for the better part of 25 years. I told him if he ever sold it I was first on the list, he agreed. As fate would have it his health took a turn for the worse, we agreed on a price and I brought it home with all of the parts in tow. The car is competely original with numbers matching motor and trans, the only thing its missing is the exhaust manifolds. I have documentation with the car from where it was bought new and a letter from the actual owner of the dealership stating he sold the car to his uncle.
I've started the task of putting it back together, this isn't to bad because when he disassembled it he bagged and tagged most of the nut/bolts and screws. The one thing i'm a little scared about is the wiring under the dash was burnt badly from connection number 23, it burnt right up through the harness and melted quite a few wires along the way. I've bought a year one harness for the car and am contemplating the changeout but it looks complicated. I feel I can do it but it will take alot of time. The rest of the assembly will be easy as I've done mopars in the past just never an e body. I look forward to hearing from you guys and what you think might have burnt this wiring so bad. Thanks, Dan.
