K-member splash shield.  There is one on each side.  Some cars only had one on the passengers side.  I thought I lost the one for the drivers side but there are no holes in the frame for one.

They are supposed to be affixed to the inner fender via clips, not hanging like that.

Two different parts being discussed.  The OP's picture shows the plastic K-member shields.  HP's link is for the rubber inner fender shields.  The plastic K-member shields are riveted to the bottom side of the frame rail.(bolted to the frame on later years instead of rivets)

does anybody have a better picture of the splash shields in place?  I just found a pair and I am not sure exactly where they go. I have a 71 cuda.  Are they bolted or riveted?   Thanks

70's and early 71's riveted, later cars bolted, but burdar is going to tell me I'm wrong in 73 cars... :smilielol:

Take a look at these, everyone is selling them if you order the whole splash shield package...

Hmm: I'll have to climb under the car and have a look. I might have some of those I bought years ago to install the Air Grabber ducting in my 69 X. They were readily available in snowmobile shops.

Just use self tapping bolts instead of the rivets and save yourself a headache!

Bolts on my 73.
Mine too. Using rivets is just asking for trouble IMO. Unless 100% stock is your goal.  :2cents:

I don't recognize the shield you have there though. My splash shields are further back, behind the K, or up in front. No holes in mine where that one seems to be.

The picture is deceiving....They mount on the frame between the two K Frame bolts on each side.
I'm glad burdar confirmed that the newer ones use bolts as well....I'm never sure when it comes to 73-74 stuff.
