G3 Hemi Install Pic's
« on: April 26, 2015 - 09:54:48 AM »
Let's see your G3 hemi motors. I'd like to see how much clearance is on all sides/angles.
Thanks in advance.

Here is the pics of when we dropped the 6.4 in his '73 with an RMS front clip to mock it up.

Thanks DFRAZZ.
I'm Just looking for pictures to see how much room there is with the G3 hemi.
I have a '70 Cuda I'm working on and I have two running motors I can use but I cant make up my mind.
1) 360 LA motor w/727 trans (complete donor truck).
2) 2004 5.7 Hemi w/545RFE trans (complete donor truck).
I like the newer Hemi for the weight, hp, roller valve train, reliability and made for today's oils, but I want the car to have a lopey idle, and it looks like the only cam I can use is the SRT MAX. If I use the 360 motor the installation is a breeze and I can install a lumpy cam.
keep in mind both motors are running and I don't really want to dive into the 5.7 to install different pistons.
I need to buy the gas tank so I could buy the EFI tank from tanks inc.

The 5.7 will also require a new harness too.

I would just modify the stock harness.

Did you have to modify the firewall at all to get the 6.4 in your E body?

No. All of the gen 3 engines are externally the same size. Intake height may vary a little, but not much.
