Seat dimensions

All the talk about fitting other seats made me wonder what the critical dimensions are, in case I get some time to go looking.

I assume critical dimensions would be mounting studs?
14 1/2" wide x 12" long for the seat rails to the floor.

Thanks for the info. I don't think the studs would be critical, as I'd imagine that almost all of the rails and studs would have to be modified. The only thing I can think of really is width; I know some guys have said they put in seats that rubbed the console. Am I missing something?

Maybe seat height too.  If too high you may have to squeeze your legs between the steering wheel and seat?

I am in the process of fitting seats in our cuda, I did it on my challenger,  with some recaros and ended up using the stock mounts with some square steel bolted to the steel part  of  the bottom of the seat and then mounted the stock units where the needed to be and used the stock holes in the floor ,and lined it up,welded it together 15 years ago, and they work great.

With a bad back the stock seats dont have enough support so I really like having a comfy seat for long road trips , they pay off in the end.

Now I have to find some seats ,like alot of people here, so far no luck with craigs list as of yet
