What I did next was replace the 1/4 inch fiberglass pole the reflectors come on with a 1 inch solid steel pole. It looks almost like the other reflectors only on a thicker pole.

So instead of a driver in a car getting hurt, now it will be a child riding a bike that might not see the 1" pole and get hurt?  :clueless:

The kids on bikes aren't the cause of your issue but yet they may be the one getting hurt.
If there is a big boulder, chances are it will be seen much more than a pole in the ground.
Again, just my  :2cents:

I was a kid on a bike once too. And I could sure see a 3 inch reflector on top of a pole. I expect any one else can too.

I'd say move the mail box over...Everybody expects to see a mail box at the end of a lane way :2cents:

I think that is the next option if this doesn't work out.

But yet a mail carrier can't.

Oh I'm sure she seen it. She just didn't give a sh*t knowing the mail truck was no match for a 1/4" fiberglass post. When I called they clearly lied to me saying she didn't even deliver mail to my house yesterday.

Edit: My driveway is about 25 feet wide. So even if she some how missed seeing the (new) reflectors. That is no excuse for cutting the corner of the yard like that.

It may also be time to build a new video server and put out some cameras. I'm thinking of doing that anyway. So I may have time stamped video proof next time. I really didn't want problems with the mail carrier, but it pissed me off when I was lied to and they basically said "prove it". You get the idea about damage to the truck will be the proof now.

I had some similar stuff going on. People were driving on the front portion of the yard. I checked with the County and got where the right away was and then proceeded to place 6 1500# boulders right up to the edge of the right away. I made sure they were on my property. It is amazing how they did not encroach any more on seeing six of them things lined up. Make sure you don't end up on the wrong end of a liability issue and good luck with the wandering mail lady.

I agree with the boulder theory and I'd so several.

Round here you have to be proactive when dealing with stuff like this. Otherwise everyone will treat you like road kill.

I liked the big assed fence scenario but would source railway track and put 4' in the ground with a fence auger and 1' out; they'd be 6-8' apart and use the large chain for decoration/continuity and paint the whole thing nice with high visibility white. Trust me, she won't run over a 12" piece of track sticking up and get to drive away unscathed!

I like that idea. I couldn't use an auger cause we have cable buried out front. But it is doable.

Anyway, so far so good. The post is still here.

Looking at this pic, I think I do need to move the mail box out a couple of feet though.
