71 Cuda 383 Auto FC7 Project - Sanity Check
« on: April 30, 2015 - 03:02:14 PM »
I have the opportunity to buy a 71 383 auto Cuda. It is an original FC7 car with black interior & is coded for Billboards. No vinyl top, no AC, No Ralley dash and came with a bench seat and column auto. The car now has bucket seats and a console/floor shift. It is in primer and I'm told needs no panels. The original engine is gone but there a decent 70 dated 383 in place. I'm told the car is complete except for the bumpers. The fender tag is there but no build sheet & Trans. Numbers match. The interior is supposed to be in great shape but the grille is busted up.  I have a pretty good idea what its worth but just looking for some other opinions. I will probably look at it this weekend and confirm all the parts are there and the bodywork is decent. I really don't need another car or have the space for one right now but I hate to pass on a decent local car like this.

I'm thinking $15K-$18K but it really depends on what metal work was done and how well. If it was a super solid car before they started then I would go higher.
Primer scares me :scared:

Yeah it scares me too. It was a super solid car all the panels are supposed to be original. I will find out this weekend. Funny you used those numbers Alan. He is asking $18k but I was hoping to own it for like $15k.

I think that's fair for a real billboard car. I'm impulsive so I would buy it, but that's me. I think I have a problem  :roflsmiley:

I went and looked at it the weekend before last and its a pretty good car. Needs a little more then described but still a pretty easy project. I made an offer that he needed to think on and he later called back and said yes. I planned on getting the car last weekend but he called me back saying he changed his mind. The deal isn't totally dead though. I spoke to him Sunday again and he's warming up to the idea of selling it again.  I told him I need a definite answer by the end of the week because I came across something else I need to move on if this one doesn't work out.

Hard to pass up any 71 Cuda's.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.
