Argent Trim Install
« on: May 01, 2015 - 10:47:48 AM »
I'm having trouble installing the rear argent trim on my 70 Challenger. I have the right clips but when I try and tighten the inside bolts the clips come right off. The bottom edge of the trim ends up about 1/3 of an inch from the car. I have 3 different assemblies and they all seem to fit the same way. Any ideas?

There must be a trick to installing these . Had the same problem with an NOS piece.   So I just threw the dang thing away, filled in the holes and painted the tail panel black.   :misbehaving:

installed mine never had an issue, some of the clips were a little loose fitting so i just gave them a little twang to snug them up in the piece. and i just snugged the nuts just a little passed hand tight :dunno:
hope this helps

That's what I tried first but then the trunk lock doesn't fit. Must be a trick to it.

The truck lock goes in first, thats what got me. Leaves a space between the panel and lock. But still could not get the lower clips to, well, clip.  :dunno:

That's the root of the problem, the clips just don't stay clipped!
