Any specific brands recommended over others? I'll most likely be buying from a chain like home depot/lowes.
I am not sure about brands but one should be as good as another.
A couple of tips: before placing the mix. Have someone drive the car while you watch where the car will bottom out. Place a couple of blocks of wood in the tire tracks and try again. You will soon see where and how much lift (Cold mix) you will need. Before placing the cold mix, sweep (and or wash) the area thoroughly, Let it dry if you washed it. If you have some old motor oil, or you can by some tach coat when you get the Cold Mix. Spread lightly within the area you plan to patch. Place the cold mix and spread evenly, a rake or 2 by 4 works good. Tamp the cold mix well. If you don’t have a metal tamper, I have used a block of wood. If you follow these steps it should last a long time.
