I thought I sent you the e-mail:

Pay attention to the spring (release) on how it goes on that makes the key release when you normally turn on the ignition.

Put the key in the ignition slot in that part of the chapter to remove the cylinder.
You'll see!

Yep, got your email with the doc, it's helped a lot - but the column you did doesn't have this safety feature on the column, and this spring.  I'll send another photo later.

This is the piece that rotates on the column and is spring loaded.  It must be rotated to get the key out.  I forget how to install the spring above to keep it loaded.   Unfortunately my disassembly pics don't have it.

I know exactly where it goes, but it's extremely hard to describe. It goes on the peg in the lower right-hand side of your first picture. The other end hooks to the tube of the steering column. You won't be able to see exactly where until you put those two pieces together.

Thanks Alan - I wondered about the peg, tried a few positions but didn't get it - will try again tonight now that I know it goes there.  Thanks again

If anyone has a picture - love to see it :-)

Alan, do you recognize this and know where it goes?  Last piece that I can't find a home for.

Are you referring to the rubber block ? If so then yes....My above non-descriptive answer  was due to the lack of attachment :blah: :smilielol:

That's the wrong brand spring. That spring belongs to a ford. You need the blue spring.  :smilielol:
It matches the muffler bearing spring.
