AGM batteries
« on: May 09, 2015 - 02:48:13 PM »
When we got the new red top group 27 battery the other day I was sure there was problem, like they forgot to put the guts in it or something.  :clueless:  I mean it is really light. So I did something stupid and read the instructions/warnings   :smilielol:  Turns out it's AGM, so I did some googling.   http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/absorbent_glass_mat_agm   Very impressed with it, but has very specific charging requirements if it gets discharged.  Live and learn.   :2thumbs:

AGM's are wonderful battery technology. I've been using them for around 10 yrs or more. Extra money, but if you're keeping your ride, worth it! No liquid acid, low self discharge, zero maintaianence....all good. Btw... With proper care, 10 yr life span is not uncommon!
