if you dont know what it is, take both the belts off and start the engine, if its still there its inside the engine, if its gone, put one belt back on at a time, it could be the ps pump, water pump /fan or alternator, as a starting point

If it's an auto trans check the torque converter bolts.

Don't remember exactly why but I've heard the noise near the end of the clip n my brain cell said I've heard that before n it's the PS pump.   :dunno:

I hope it's the ps or water pump...I'll freak if it's internal...had to rebuild my engine in my 71 Satty for a spun bearing in the main cap a month after I bought it...positive thinking

It sounded like it got stronger when on the power steering pump side BUT, I've heard that noise from bad bearings in an alternator too. The sound can be deceiving but I hardly doubt it's in the engine. It's too crisp of a sound.
Remove one belt at a time to isolate. It's something up front.

Yes take off the belts and run the engine as crash340 suggested. I can't get good audio on this pos hand-me-down IPad to determine anything... Will check later on the P.C. with better speakers.

well...I feel like an idiot- the belt was dry...sprayed some lube on it and the noise disappeared. :bricks1:
I'm okay with being an idiot w/out an engine problem!
