Sounds strange to me too.
Maybe some of the spray got to bearings for a temp fix, but never heard of a belt making a rattling noise. Especially a noise like in the video.

Edit: looked at the video again. the belts didn't look loose so I can't see the belts being an issue. The rattle sounds more metallic in nature.
Pretty sure a bearing IMHO.
But I guess if the "rattle" went away, I guess it's good... for now.

i would recommend changing the belts if that was the noise. One or both may have a flat spot on it from slipping in the past for example. I don't think it is actually belt "lube" but belt dressing. Its made to soften the rubber belt glazing and has some stick-um compound so the belt will grip better. Its just a temporary fix as it doesn't last very long. Is that what you used to make the rattle go away? I thought is sounded more like your crank pulley bolts were loose etc.

yes you're correct...belt dressing. I will change the belts over the weekend.

Fan clutch? Can you wiggle the fan blades at all?

just found this thread,the last 2-3 seconds of the vid clip, watch the fan clutch.looks like it wobbled quite abit or am i seeing things.  :clueless:

Well good news/bad news....I'm still an idiot!! The PS pulley flew off on my way to a car show. I pulled up to a light-it flew off-light turned red-I picked it up and the belt and continued to the show.
Driving manual steering w a torn rotator cuff was fun...said no one EVER

Well at least You foundi it! Kudos to those that posted "it sounds metallic". Did you recover the ps pulley? Good luck on the fix! :thumbsup:
