Nice Find!

I like the Sattelite's.

What are your plans for it?
Any changes?

Hey topcat,  I spent the weekend working on it.  It was not running when I bought it and had been sitting for a while.  Did the normal post-barn find items and got it running.  It runs pretty well, but may need to rebuild the carb.  I couldn't help but work on the interior (put in some seats and basic cleanup).  Drove it around today with my daughter and she loved it!  Thinking about a Go-Wing, 6-Pack hood scoop, front splitter air dam and drive it :)

Picked up a rear sway bar and installed this afternoon...man, what a difference in the handling of the car!

Old rear wheel studs were getting a bit loose so I replaced today with new ARP wheel studs.  MUCH better!

All right...here is the entire reason I was able to get so much done in a short time frame...I have a secret helper.  My 10 year old son :)  If he didn't love cars as much as me I probably wouldn't spend so much time on them!

Beautiful job!  And, thank you for getting your son involved.  Somebody has to care for these cars when all us old guys are gone.   :roflsmiley:

Hey Jim,  I only wish I had the time, talent and patience you guys put into your cars!!  I just make them nice enough for me and the family to enjoy, and drive the heck out of them :)

I have a 1969 Mach 1 that I purchased when I was 13 for $550 with my lawn mowing money(I still have the car) and my son has been riding in it since he was a baby.  He has always talked about getting a 69 Mach 1 and working on it like I did.  A couple of months ago I picked one up from a buddy that needs a lot of work, but is complete.  My son actually purchased it with his own money (he has had a small business stringing lacrosse sticks for the past 3 years) and he and I work on it a little at a time hopefully to one day end up with a nice car for him to drive, but more importantly making memories that will last he and I a lifetime!

My '69 as it sits today and my son's '69 as it sits today:

Subtle way of steering him away from the E body...
I have a restored 68 Mustang my daughter can choose to have instead of the Challenger.

Great to see he is interested. Youth with mechanical ability of any kind will always be able to find work when they become an adult.
