I got a couple of messages regarding the fit of the spoiler.  The only thing I had to do was use my heat gun to slightly form the spoiler to the lower valance of the Challenger.  It was easy to form under a little heat.  The tabs on the spoiler were in good spots to mount.  I found absolute center on the spoiler and then on the valance and started from the center and worked my way out with a few mounting bolts.  When I was done, there were no gaps and it looks pretty much factory.


Yup same with my chebbie spoiler, little heat and mounted it behind the lights. it's off a 68, basically the same but without those 2 center tabs. Here's a pic for anyone who is interested

you are running hotchkis torsion bars? Any complaints? I've read a lot about low ride height issues

How can you have low ride height issues because of a torsion bar?  Just adjust it to the height you want.   :dunno: :clueless:

There's a few threads in here about them being indexed differently then stock and they made the front sit very low. Such an issue that hotchkis was calling customers and offering refunds. So I'm guessing with those details, they couldn't be adjusted up enough. I don't if the design has been changed since?

Thanks, and this is good to know.  I ordered the Hotchkis t-bars and should have them on the Cuda within the next couple of weeks, so I will let you know.

There are a lot of problems with different makes. I had ordered Just Suspension 1'' TB and I couldn't install the passenger one, even if I removed the adjuster screw, so I turned the screw almost all the way in, managed to install it and screwed it in just a little more. It was enough for the TB to turn the hex a little ore and then installed it right.

I have been running the Hotchkis Torsion bars and I have them set pretty low, but that only because I like the look.  I can raise them about an inch from where they are now if desired.  Mine seem to have enough adjustability.  Not sure, but the the QA1 lower control arms may have made a difference compared to stock.

My Challenger, when purchased in '79, had the torsion bars AND the brakes installed on the wrong sides. The drum brake adjusters would loosen when applying in reverse, instead of tightening. The lower control arm adjusters were almost all the way in with the car still sitting too low.

Luckily this wasn't my first Mopar and I fixed it.
 If you have the Torsion bars reversed, the Hex indexing is wrong for both sides and you won't get your proper adjustment no matter where you index your lower control arms, with or without the adjuster in.

If one side is giving problems, like one of the posters said here, the supplier may have shipped 2 bars for the same side.

Easy enough to install both new arms on each side, when the adjusters are all the way out, to see where the lower control arms end up.

while the topic is on sway bars, I'm thinking about how I might be able to solve this issue

the self tapping bolts for the rear sway bars in my T/A are shaking loose

I don't want to put a bolt all the way thru and tighten them up too much in case it pinches into the chassis too much

has anyone done anything different to keep them tight ?

If you have a welder, zap a couple of spots and grind down. You'll never see it. If you go too small or too far to one side, use a high speed carbide die grinder to center your hole.

These are a self tapping type bolt, right into the side of the longitudinal. The hole in the sway bar mount limits the mods that he can make. Any welding would be hidden under the bracket that is being bolted down.
