Spectra Fuel Tank W/ Pump
« on: May 16, 2015 - 01:34:13 AM »
Was looking around on Rock Auto and came across a fuel tank with a pump in it. I would assume it's for fuel injection. Has anyone used one? Part number on Rock Auto was SPECTRA PREMIUM / COOLING DEPOT CR8BFI. It was only $320 and it looks like Spectra may be an OE parts manufacturer for some makes, so maybe it wouldn't be too bad?

I was thinking of using that set-up on my next restomod, but the quality of the pump is pretty unknown :dunno:

I agree; nice find, the tank is 1 of the reasons I've been sitting on the EFI fence.

Wow, I only just bought a new tank 6 months ago from RA!!!! I wonder if its the same tank with just an in tank pump sender combo and if its available as a spare, then maybe the pump is upgradeable to a higher output ,,,,,, so many questions!!!

Spectra had a tank at Carlisle. Couldn't pull the sender/pump out, but it looked like everything was made to go into the outlet for the sender. Not sure on the pump specs.
I already set up a Aeromotive Phantom 340 pump up in a stock tank so I won't be buying one.

Does anyone know what the baffling looks like inside the Tanks Inc E-body units?  I've seen cutaways of their Chevy tanks, are they similar for Mopars?
