Anyone Tried this Exhaust System ?
« on: May 16, 2015 - 04:44:53 AM »
As I'm finishing  :grinyes: the final details on my Challenger, I left for the last part (well... almost last) the exhaust system. The previous owner had installed Hooker Super Comp Headers (engine is 440 with mild cam and Holley 950 cfm) which, by the way, are  :swear: in getting them in and out. Anyway for the rest exhaust system I only have two 3'' Flowmaster 40s and two brand new 3'' exhaust tips. So I was looking for a shop to mandrel bend 3'' pipes  to bring all these parts together. After searching a lot, I found out that just mandrel bend regular (non-stainless) 3'' pipes would be about 1000 $  :scared:  :bricks1:  :faint:. All these without doing anything fancy like H-pipe or X-pipe connection or the hardware to hang it on the body. So I was searching  :ebay: to find a complete system that could be shipped to my country. So I found this...

Anyone tried this? If not what do you think?

Looks like a magnaflow system to me?  I have the 2 1/2" system on my car.

Yes, that's what I thought, it seemed a little strange that it doesn't say the brand. Anyway, Brad did you have any problems with the installation? I'm curious about the tailpipes with the exhaust tips. Did you weld anything?

Def Magnaflow system, the part number is in the description.

you have to tweek the pipes befor the X pipe to suit your headers/manifold generally and to get the tail pipe sitting right from the mufler back I had to tweek it some to suit my specific needs, I think Brad did the same

I have 2 1/2" Magnaflow system on my 440. I had a muffler shop install. He welded most of it together. Had to do a little tweeking but for the most part, fit real good. I have Hedman headers.

Thanks a lot guys, the system arrived and it is MF Magnaflow allright.
Just wondering if I did wrong by ordering the 3'' inch and not the 2.5'' one... :clueless:

I'd guess it will be a little louder and maybe you might have tighter clearances when installing? Sometimes rear sway bar causes issues with clearance.

I'll try and post the installation, I hope it doesn't give too much trouble in the tailpipes...
