Looks good, make sure you mask the vinyl top when you paint the rest.  I would of waited for the vinyl.

Hi moprr.  Yes you got it, the vinyl top will be taped off with plastic and then an extra layer of painting paper to just to make sure. Did a 70 Superbee this same way and it turned out good.  The reason I did it this way was so I don't have to worry about scratching the paint. Everyone has there own methods, this just happens to mine.

anlauto, yes it is a different way about going through things.  Hopefully people don't think I'm too crazy, haha

Hi twalker.

I'm a little hesitant about giving out my location on the internet.  I would rather not at this moment.  It's nothing against you twalker. I just don't feel comfortable doing that right now.  I hope you understand.  Thank you for the support!!!  It is much appreciated!

Got a question for you guys.  I've decided to go green with my engine, same color as the body.  So I'm cleaning up the engine tonight and notice contact to the water pump housing.

Has anyone ever run into this before?  Is there some slop in the water pump housing so that it can be slightly re-positioned up to gain clearance?

The contact is small, but enough that it will take the paint off.  I'm thinking if I could move the water pump housing up less than 1/16" then I would be able to clear it.  In the photo the contact point is circled in green.

Anyway suggestions is always welcomed.

Thanks guys.

You could always remove the pump and grind off the clearance you need?

You are right brads70, I took the pump off and ground down what I needed to gain clearance.  It fits a lot better now.

Currently sanding down the engine now.  Hope to get some epoxy primer on it by Monday, then maybe Tuesday the engine will green with the same snake skin green color I'm currently using.  I'll but some black TTi headers on, aluminum Eldebrock RPM intake, black mopar valve covers, black mopar air cleaner, etc.  Hopefully it will look good.  I know some might not like that the engine won't be Chrysler orange, but hopefully some people will like to!

Finally painted the engine snake skin green.  I think it turned ok, it's definitely different.  I'm sure some people would rather have the engine orange, but I thought I would do something a little different.  I like how the black valve covers look on the engine.  I think once I get some of the black brackets on, aluminum intake, black headers, etc it will help break up the green and it won't be so overwhelming.

Hi lulurocks.

Thanks for the positive feedback.  Hahaha, yes it's always good to not to be the only one that does things a certain way.  I started bolting up a few parts.  I have more coming in tomorrow and I'll be calling TTI to order my headers.  They said they can do a satin black finish instead of grey or silver.  So I'm going to get the satin black headers, they said it takes about 4 weeks since they'll be a special order due to the satin black coating.  I think that will help break up the green to.

You Made up my mind for me  , body color motor for me !!! Thanks!

I like the black valve covers, the mopar covers and the old m/t covers  are very classy.

You going with painted hardware or stainless polished or the black anodized ?

Again sweet ride..

Ken

Hey lulurocks.

That's pretty cool about the body color motor.  What color are you painting your challenger?

I got some more parts in today and bolted them on the engine.

Hopefully more parts will show up tomorrow.

Thanks for compliment cudaCruiser.

Today the headliner was installed and I was able to bolt the TKO-600 to the engine.

I need to prime the oil pump before I install the engine.  Does anyone have good instructions on how to do this?

Thanks!
