'72 Challenger rear quarter panels
« on: May 20, 2015 - 05:59:22 PM »
Hey everyone!

I'm looking for rear quarters for my '72 Challenger. The only thing is I only need the lower portion of the quarter (essentially the wheel lips behind the rear wheel). I really don't want to buy a whole quarter panel (I need both sides) and make more work for me. Do they make lower half quarters?

Tony

SHERMAN Part # 16060R
SHERMAN Part # 16060L
SHERMAN Part # 16057L
SHERMAN Part # 16057R

I don't see AMD producing a lot of that kind of stuff, but Sherman and Goodmark I think does. I know nothing of fitment but may be a good way to get a head start on your work.

I've seen those but unfortunately, they're not what I need. I need the entire wheel lip all the way around and the lower panel behind the rear wheel on both sides.

You're going need to buy AMD 710-2572-R Quarter Patch Panel. :2thumbs:

The pieces I referenced are the ones directly in front of and behind the wheel well.
That lip is not serviced separately I do not believe. So you will need a full quarter patch.

Might as well order an outer wheel house as well  :2cents:

It looks like the outer wheel house is still intact. It's really just that wheel lip and the spot behind the wheels.

Wait until you remove the quarter before you make the call on the outer wheel house. I guarantee it's rusted through...You might get away with just patching up the old one, but it would be nice to have a new one handy to use for patch panels...

:iagree:  What the man said. When you look up rustbucket in the dictionary, there's a picture of an old Challenger or Cuda. Where are you? I've got one 1/4 skin that became surplus when I went with full 1/4's.

I'm in PA. Hope you're close!

The car wasn't driven long at all. From what understand, it was crashed, then repaired. After that, it was washed well and put inside a warm garage until the present. Had the original nude air freshener from penthouse still hanging on one of the knobs. Plus an aftermarket 8-track.
