New Hwy 61 '70 Cuda's (1:18 scale) announced.
« on: May 22, 2015 - 01:03:43 PM »
No new 1:18 scale Hwy 61 cars have been released since 2011 (4 years) and no new Cuda's since 2008 (7 years) so this is a pretty big deal to die cast collectors. The 1:18 scale Highway 61 tooling for the 1970 Cuda's was made available to us, so we have started two projects. Working with ACME they are/were over in China this past week working out some details. The plan is to have what we feel are two very special 1970 Cuda's made. Collectors have asked us for a Supercar Limited Edition Musclecar as we haven't had any made in quite some time now. But not to anger those who like the drag cars, Scott came up with this idea to possibly please both groups, so please keep reading...

#SoxDemo (item number for now) is a 1970 Cuda Gran Coupe in Red with a White interior, with a twin scoop hood, powered by a 383 and an automatic. This is a replica of a car once owned by Ronnie Sox, as it was presented to him as a "DEMO" or demonstrator car - for signing the Sox & Martin 1970 season race contract. Can you guess what the other car is?

#MartinDemo (item number for now) is a 1970 Cuda Gran Coupe in Black with a Black interior, with a twin scoop hood, powered by a 440 and an automatic. This is a replica of a car once owned by Buddy Martin, as presented to him as a DEMO or demonstrator car - for signing the Sox & Martin 1970 season race contract.

Both of course will have the usual opening features and great detail of a Highway 61 car, and come in special theme packaging. We only have real car photo's at this time, but would appreciate your pre-order now to show support for these projects. See www.Supercar1.com for all we know at this time.

Thanks for the read!

Glad to see which I hope will be a resurrection of these great cars in 1/18.  Im not into the Gran Coupe's, but Im sure the possibilities are limitless for other 'Cuda models.  You are a very good vendor of these cars, but I stopped buying them just for the reason that they have not been produced for awhile.  Like to see Challenger's in the running too.
Thanks for update and looking forward to the future.

How about a GR Cpe convertible. Like with matching interior. exterior.

I'm sick of seeing (purchasing) only hardtop 71 cuda's and challengers.

Or better yet some 72 -  74 'Cuda's.

The market is turning out poor quality modern vehicles. .

We too would like to see Cuda convertibles available, but we are not a manufacturer, we just have them make limited editions of existing molds for us. The only convertibles made so far are ones done by companies like Backyard Conversions, who cuts the roofs off and makes boots for them.

As far as Challengers yes we would like to, but one thing at a time. This Cuda project must be successful first, before another project is taken on. It's a ton of money to pay for 1,000 of these cars, and hope that they sell well.

Thanks for the suggestions, and we will do what we can.

One project at a time my friends. Support the Cuda's, and then Challengers could happen.

Here's a quick photo of Ronnie's car in our display just as the show opened...
