My home made radiator shroud
« on: May 23, 2015 - 07:34:04 AM »
Thought I'd post a couple of pics how I made my shroud to fit my 26 radiator.

First made template from Styrofoam to match radiator and fan

Glue together with epoxy resin and microballon, but you could use any type of glue.

Duct tape every where you don't want the epoxy to stick.  It's only 1/2 taped in this picture.  Epoxy won't stick to duct tape.  You can also wax it for extra release-ability.

Laying up the carbon fiber

Vacuum bagged it to get all the extra resin out of it.  Thia is not a necessary step.

Removed from mold, still need a few more areas to clean up and repair

Started trimming to fit radiator outlets.  Still need to trim edges and clean up up a little.

Thanks,
It's not the prettiest, but it will work,  and I  it feels like it weighs less than a pound.

Very cool.
