'72 Challenger Quarter Panels
« on: May 25, 2015 - 03:27:06 PM »
Like the title says, I need quarter panels on both sides. I need the wheel lips mainly and but looking for the quarter panel below the body line. If you have some, let me know!

Posting your location, even if a general area helps with large objects like this. I have a 72 left rear clip, but being from Washington state most likely puts it on the too far list. Good luck with the search.

I'm in Pennsylvania; Reading area.

Anlauto: I wish I could. I'm on a budget for parts and if I don't need new, I'm ok.

Maybe if you wait until Carlisle you'll find some used stuff. I have this 1971 Challenger quarter panel here that could be good for passenger side patches... :dunno:

I keep forgetting about Carlisle. I go almost every year and still forgot. I work in a prison and that takes up a lot of brain space.

I feel I should clarify my statement: I am on a budget for the car. I'm not necessarily building a show car. I'm not the one who would buy something brand new and only use a fraction of it. I may have to bite the bullet and buy new quarters but in the meantime, I can dream!

I sincerely apologize if I offended someone or said something out of pocket. Keyboards do not offer any subtle differences.

Nothing offensive at all. A lot of us have found bigger problems after getting into a project though so most of us consider installing new quarters right from the start is all. We've all thought we were going to patch quarters too, only to say uh'oh when the grinder comes out and the paint comes off.
If you do patch I would consider cutting in the whole bottom end from the S-curve down or measure all your required welds to do it that way as opposed to just going around the wheel opening. Less welding equals less grinding equals less chance of warping and less time.

I was thinking of replacing the metal below the body line. I took both quarters down to bare metal and the major issues are those wheel lips. Everything else is good and no pitting. I know the rear part of the quarter behind the rear wheel needs to be replaced. Those are pretty rough.

Find anything yet? I have a set of quarter skins that would work great for what you are wanting to do. ramcharger44004@yahoo.com
