Definitely want a RWD engine. I believe there are differences in a FWD and an the RWD jeep engines. Do the trucks have the 3.6 also?
I'm a Diablo CMR tuner and also have HpTuners which can both tune the 3.6's PCM, so I want to stick to the factory PCM. Besides needing it for the VVT, the flex fuel option will be nice when using E85 with the turbos. Getting around the security maybe the most challenging part of this project. Since the Jeep gets its speed input from its ABS module, using the electronic throttle is probably not an option but we'll see. I know the guys from Diablo that helped that GasMonkey Dart run its Hellcat hemi, so I'll see what they say.
I know another guy in CA putting a 3.6L + Edelbrock SC+T5 in his 69 Valiant. Im riding his coat tails a bit. He got another prominent Hemi tuner to flash a special PCM and super secret black box to bypass the PCM security. So that's another option.
From my research the Ram 1500 3.6l uses the same intake as Jeep but much different rear sump oil pan. Every other FWD 3.6l uses s different intake and "front" sump oil pan,
