Carlisle itself is a pretty "dry" town....You have to drive a bit to find a liquor or beer store....
You mean no beer in convience stores ?  No bars  ?   No biker bars  ?  How about tit%y bars for god sakes  :dunno:

What have I done   :bricks1:  Wait, I have google   :woohoo:   I will survive   :smilielol:

I don't think there are any strip joints, just one lonely sex shop. They do sell beer in convenience stores.

I used to stay in Carlisle but man the town is boring, the food is pretty awful and getting a seat anywhere is a nightmare so we started staying in Harrisburg Much better night life and food. However if you're at a hotel that has a good amount of car guys usually the parking lot hangout is pretty good. One hotel we stayed at had free burgers, hot dogs and coors light at around 8:00pm for those who were hanging out in the parking lot.

I have never seen a Mopar Show get rained on. I have seen some pretty wicked rain/thunderstorms at night and I guess that is pretty common around there.

I'll be there again this year without my car, my collection of parts known as a car has reliability issues. Excited to meet some people!

Great, thanks for the info. I'm not into bars anyway, hoping were at a hotel with lots of car guys. Hanging at the hotel having a few cold ones is my speed.  Looking forward to meeting lots of cc members.

Yes on Friday we all typically have a pizza party in the parking lot with beer or course!  You cannot buy beer in a convenience store . . . There are beer stores that are open to like 6:00 or something odd like that.  And if I remember right, they sell by the case . . . . Definitely not, like here in Michigan where just about every gas station sells beer . . . . Then Saturday night is the club dinner and back to the parking lot.   Thursday is the only day we have nothing set in stone, but Viperboy and I typically find a brewpub and hang out for dinner and beer . . . . Last year was a very interesting Thursday night for sure .. . Lol

Last year we stayed at the Quality Inn in New Cumberland with a lot of other CC members. You can buy take-out beer at the Pizza Hut across the street.

Cool, thanks  :2thumbs:  rain I can handle.

Don't underestimate the amount of rain that can fall there. About 3 years ago there was so much rain on Friday afternoon that some vendors had their product floating downstream. I know it sounds funny, but it really happened.

Just weighing in on the "buy booze" discussion - PA recently passed a law that allows distributers to sell in 12-packs, provided they have twelve-packs to sell.

There's a very good beer distributer on Carlisle Pike in Mechanicsburg, a few miles from the fairgrounds (and between the hotel and fairgrounds.)  It's called Silver Spring Beverage.  They have later hours on Fridays and Saturdays.

Just a little further down rt 11 (Carlisle Pike) is a Wegman's grocery store.  They have a pretty good beer selection in six-packs, including the ability to "make your own" 6-pack.  In this store you can buy up to 12 bottles of beer "per trip."  You are allowed to make as many "trips" as you'd like, but have to return to your car to unload each time.  Literally it is a PA law that you can't have more than 12 bottles of beer (it's actually a limit on ounces) in one cart at a grocery store at a time.

Don't hate the messenger - we're fighting these laws like crazy.  :)
