Alan...that is so wrong man!!!   :smilielol:

Bolts...which bolts????

I'm kidding, yes I took the bolts out.  Sorry no pics.

I stopped and put it all back together after I started to bend the outside rim of the reservoir trying to separate it.  I did not want to destroy the thing.

This is the old style pump, not the newer triangular type pump.

So any tips before I try it again?

They can be difficult.  Make sure the fitting that the PS hose attaches to is removed.  It's not part of the reservoir...it's a separate piece.  Spray the perimeter of the reservoir with penetrating oil and let it sit and work down into the gap.  Just go easily.  You may bend it a little...I did.  You'll have to straighten it out once it's off.  Rebuilding the pump itself is gravy.

Also when you take the fitting off that Burdar spoke of there may or may not be a valve and springs in there.

Yep I removed that fitting (all the internals are there as well).

I am trying not to make the car undrivable for any length of time, so, I just put it all back together for now.  I my try it later in the summer if it looks like we will get a crappy week, so I can let it sit for a few days.

No big deal, its not leaking too bad at this point.
