Rear deck filler panel question

I have an AMD rear deck filler panel being installed. The seam where the filler panel meets the trunk lip, should that be slightly raised or flush? Currently the AMD panel is slightly higher (on top of the quarter lip). I forgot to take a before picture and my body man is saying it was a bit raised and will be seam sealed as it was. Is this correct?

Flush  on my car  ...   Well flush meaning that both panels vertical surfaces are the same . Like the seam not being there....

Most of the round edge  will not be seen once the rigid seam sealer is applied leaving you with a smooth body line..

I replaced mine three years ago, used a AMD panel. the deck lid and the Dutchman panel line up flat.





He may need to trim it, or make some "pie" cuts to make it line up flatly.

I think I was unclear on the section I was talking about. This should be more clear:



He is saying that at that point, the patch panel will sit slightly higher. Is this correct? Will this cause decklid fitment issues?

Yep sits on top og the trunk gutter  and gets seam sealed   so water flows down the dutchmen into guttter and out and away.

Opps, yes the dutchman panel lays on top of the trunk gutter panel. they over lap each other.
