6 Way Seat
« on: June 05, 2015 - 01:06:45 AM »
My Challenger came with a 6 way seat according to the fender tag but it's long gone.

Do they work good and is it worth trying to find one to put back in?   what about the PG Classic repop?   $515 for brand new ain't bad  but, I've found PG Clissic quality to be hit and miss.

I have been having problems with mine binding and not wanting to slide.  Don't know why, but I'll figure it out.   :hyper:

:iagree:  I had mine all cleaned and greased but still moved like crap...  That said, I would never spend that kinda money on one, but fix the seat as far down and back as possible.

I wouldn't either spend that kind of money for the part. I ordered one time leather seat covers for my 70 Challanger from PG Classic and they are very good, they sat up nice and they can take the daily abuse so far. Only problem was... they sent me 71 Cuda covers  :bricks1:  :pullinghair:.Anyway, i would search for a used one and refurbish it, as long as it doesn't cost that much money.

If you're restoring your car and it came with one....I would put it in, otherwise it's a useless option in my opinion...You will get different positions that you wouldn't normally get, but how often do you want to change your position ?

106 ways to adjust my azz.

Our Gr Cpe has the 6 way seat and it is 2 in higher that passenger seat
won't adjust and not going to fix it.

If you can get one for free or dirt cheap

who would know unless u told them it should have one.

Have you considered putting some blocks under the passenger seat to make them the same height?

I've always kinda wanted a set of the 6 way seats but have no experience with them.  Do the rotate out also?
I am new, but I am willing to learn.  Would I have to go to a special school or something?

:clueless:  bolts on passenger seat frame would need to be punched out and longer bolts to add 2 inches ? wood, metal, height to passenger seat.

You guys are crazy. Find one and drive it first. The 6 way puts your seat angle back and legs up which is a must have for tall people. When I get into my fathers 74 Barracuda (without one), it's like sitting in a kitchen dining chair (ie: 90 degrees).

I'll say my "normal" seat is not the most comfortable, it be nice to angle it a little. The back of my legs hurt on a long cruze   :grinyes:

My 70 Challenger also came with one..... it is absolutely terrific!    I found a one that was rough & needed repairs off ebay a while back and put it in my '74 Rallye.    They can get twisted a bit and don't want to slide.    I spent some time on her, cleaned it up and actually had to spot weld a new bottom plate on one side (rust).  It's not perfect, but you can't see it and it works!   I especially like the tilt function..... really helps my back on long trips.    I wouldn't go back to the straight seat unless I had to......
