So new I don't even have a car
« on: June 10, 2015 - 02:40:41 PM »
Hello Everyone,

I am very new to Barracudas and Challengers. I had all but given up on ever being able to afford a mopar, even though I always thought they were awesome. Recently I decided to liquidate two of my cars in the hopes of buying a Barracuda. My uncle had a 67 Formula S Barracuda with a 273 and a 4 speed. Unfortunately, the engine mounts rotted out of it and it was long gone before I came around. I hope to buy a 67 Barracuda in the near future. Hopefully this site will be full of useful information to guide me on my journey.

Welcome, good luck on your search. Yep this hobby has gotten expensive unfortunately! Keep your eyes open on here as people often post links on cars they find for sale.  :2thumbs:

Where are you from & what level of car are you interested in?  Project Barracudas abound in these parts but transportation costs might be prohibitive.

I forgot to mention, I'm in York PA. It seems to be slim pickins around here. I can't really afford a nice car, but I also don't want a complete basket case. I'm not afraid of getting my hands dirty and doing some serious work - In fact, I really enjoy doing such things.

Welcome aboard! Looking to get into a '67 Barracuda? Nothing wrong with that. Nice thing about the second generation ('67-'69) A-body Barracudas is that you can get into a nice one for a whole lot less money than their third generation E-body relatives. Now don't take this wrong, but if it is a second generation Barracuda you are after you should really be over on FABO (For A-Bodies Only) http://www.forabodiesonly.com/  FABO rocks all things A-body and is crawling with second gen Barracudas. Go check it out and good luck!
Cheers!

My advice as always is buy the most  complete car you can afford in the best shape you can find , the rougher the car is or less complete it is the more it will cost to complete the project & the more likely you will be to give up .
Good luck in your search & Welcome

Welcome to C.C. This is a great place for help and advice. A few months ago I didn't have a car either but I bought one from one of the great members on this site. Also join up to FABO. Be patient and be ready to purchase when you find the right car at the right price. One thing I know is...good deals can be gone fast! Good luck in your search.
