Where on the door was your original VIN decal located ? Up high, or in the middle ?

My vin is above the latch  to the left. get u a pic tomorrow if u like it is original location.

I was thinking the same thing...I know it's usually 100% right above the latch in 1971, but 70 seems to vary....I know the two orange doors I posted are both 70's and original.

The "up high" one has a build date of Oct 69.

Yes it's a 71' but the point is that it's in the same place as earlier months.

I highly doubt they decided to place it different within the first 2 or 3 years of production.

Al sorry not getting back with my door vin dam Verizon strung new fiber cable yesterday squirrels chewed into it and screwed up our phone
and cable back on line late today,

This is where my vin is located since 1985 I owned the AAR
It was taped over before the color change it was not removed.
