Sorry to hear that! I think it's time to be a pest unfortunately.

I give up - been stopping by every Saturday and getting pretty much the same excuses. Now I will wait for him to call and I'll keep promising I'll come and pay for it. Times are getting tough here in oil rich Alberta and I am quite certain I'm not the only guy he is pissing off.

Total amount spent with him this year will be just over 10K but that won't be happening ever again.

Rest assured if there is an issue, any kind of issue with this build I will not be so patient and understanding.

Something to consider- get your engine back from the machine shop as is. Buy a shortblock with the cam of your choice from Muscle Motors or CME etc. Install your Indy heads, intake pan etc yourself. If your current block is trashed due to a spun cam bearing, your going to be right there price-wise it would seem. At least you will have control of this bad situation and get your car on the road. If this machine shop is 3 months plus back logged, their price will reflect that if they ever get to it.$$$$$ I'm not sure of the logistics here, just throwing out an idea.

Block was found to be fine but I was considering Muscle motors had it not been. As CP says below summer is pretty much over for the car anyways now. I have set a date of Oct 1 - if it still isn't done I will likely pull it out of there then. Funny you mention the $$$$$ - I asked him 2 weeks ago if he could put together a finished estimate. Still hasn't got back to me.

I somewhat regret not going to him in the 1st place - I do have his name and # saved for future reference. I was kind of hoping this donkey was going to look after and maybe help out due to the money spent with him this spring.

At this point, and the fact the guy keeps procrastinating, I would take the hit and just show up and get the stuff and ask for a refund. If he says no to the refund, tell him you will see him in small claims. He is very unprofessional and appears to have little if any ethics.

Engine was finally dyno'd today and I have to admit I am a bit disappointed with the results - was hoping for 650hp minimum. Ended up @ 622hp and 618 lb ft of torque.

Builder wasn't really surprised due to the hydraulic roller cam (lunati 20230713) decision I made due to maintenance concerns - but we can always swap cam and lifters when I get bored.

Still going to be quite an improvement over the last setup but unfortunately won't get to test this year - last track day was this past Monday.

Congrats on getting your engine back! 622hp/618ftlbs are some strong numbers for a hydraulic roller cam! Very nice! :2thumbs:
