Help. Cuda Dash Wiring questions with pictures
« on: June 12, 2015 - 09:46:53 AM »
Hi guys ... just finishing up my dash build and since I didn't disassemble the car, stumped on a few wires.  I do have a couple wiring diagrams, searched this forum and the internet, but have either come up short on these or want an expert to weigh-in before I go any further.  Thanks for your help - pictures below should tell the story.

The flasher unit snaps into a metal clip that attaches to the side of the ash tray.

#1 - Flasher inserts into the side of the ashtray
#2 - Believe its for the clock
#3 - ???
#4 - Each triplug is different (Red - always on, Yellow/Tan - accessory feed) Btw, with your dash lights plugged in there - they will always be on. (not good)
#5 - Ignition switch light, switch title light
#6 - Looks like the key-in buzzer but the middle wire should be red?

#6 looks like a key-in/lights-on buzzer.

I have the rallye dash lights plugged into the Orange triplug - that should be right, no?

Put that one into an accessory plug so it's not on all the time and it comes on with the flick of the headlight switch.

#5 First off, this info is from my 1970 manual
If the one barrel connector's both yellow wires have a tracer I'd say it goes to the "Time Delay Relay"

If the other barrel connector(w/o tracers) is for the ignition switch lamp, there should be a separate wire out of the steering column.

Thanks everyone - getting there.  Have to order a time delay relay.

Anyone know where the brown wire in image #6 should go?

I was wondering what held the flasher in place. Can anyone post a pic of what the holder looks like?
