Well back from Russia and working on the car. Have removed old 440 along with the k member. Currently sandblasting and painting. Removed interior and installed new insulation.

I would recommend a Borg & Beck Long 3 finger street twin clutch system from McLeod for that !!
Crazy you took the engine out of the top & then removed the K frame anyway  I would have dropped everything out the bottom , I would certainly install it all that way

You know the way it goes - was going to drop in the new motor but then decided to remove everything to clean and paint. Should have removed everything in one unit. It all will be going in from the bottom though that's for sure...

Sounds good ! One other thing I see is you have  HV Melling oil pump listed on the build with a 6 qt stock pan , I highly recommend changing to a HP std volume oil pump or you can drain the oil pan as the oil may not return fast enough .

Yes good point. I brought that up to Al as well but he said this pan/pump combo will be fine. Spring was changed as well so we are at a little higher pressure too. Will have to check the dyno sheets to verify oil pressures which I haven't picked up yet from Pierre.

Bringing everything out the bottom on a completed car is a little more challenging than when your doing a car from scratch... The exhaust has to be dealt with & if it goes over the axle as most do it either has to be cut or the axle has to come our...

I lot of things need to be removed in order to remove the engine from the bottom but I think it's the best and safest way.

Well the last few weeks have been busy to say the least. We have the motor in the car and are working on electrical issues. I had the main power wire arc out going through the bulkhead connector from the alternator. Wound up pushing the wire through the connector and made a spade connection inside the car. Also pulled the dash and cluster and found numerous issues which are being resolved. Why can't people do a job right in the first place? I have been suffering electrical issues with this car for the past few years. Problems will be solved now. I want to keep the ammeter in place and working.

With the new power adder under the hood I thought caltracs would be a good idea. So out came the rear diff and cleaned it up. Blasted and painted the hangers and leaf springs.
