Car pretty well complete now. I have to take it to a muffler shop and get a front end alignment done. Also need to get the frame connectors welded in. Tried to re-use the X-pipe but won't fit over the drive shaft loop. I have installed electric cut outs (Doug's) and hid the activation switch in the glove box. I changed the rear wing to a 71 wing and like it a lot better. Hoping the frame connectors flex up into the car once the weight of the rear is sitting on them. This pic shows them but the front connector isn't welded in and the car's weight is off the rear point where they bolt on to the rear leaf spring mount. I will post a video of the car under it's own power next week.

Car looks awesome. Do those electric exhaust valves work well?

Seem to work very well. Takes about 2-3 full seconds to open up. You can release the switch and the motor stops, so you can drive with them partially open if wanted. I opted for this type over the butterfly type since I heard that the butterfly type get gummed up over time and stick? The reviews on the Doug's were very good as well.

Which set of Dougs did you buy and where did you get them?

Summit, Jegs and even Amazon carries them. Amazon shows the 2-1/2" model for about $434 , if you have a Prime membership. I noticed several reviews though that mentioned the motors didn't last long.

We had a set on another car and they jammed up because the screws came loose. Took them apart and used locktight to keep the screws tight. I checked these ones out before installing but didn't use any locktight. These are the 2 1/2 inch - around 450 dollars. Bought them from Mopac in Calgary. The motors sound very healthy for what it's worth but they may screw up over time...

Hauled my car into the muffler shop and they welded in my x pipe and tacked on some extensions on the electric cut outs, welded in the Hotchkiss frame connectors and did a front end alignment. I was pissed when I saw they used carbon steel piping on my SS TTI exhaust!  :stomp: They also had turn downs on the cut outs and they were pointed straight down - I cut them off tonight with a chain pipe cutter - no need to be blowing dust everywhere under the car. The cut outs work great and the car sounds totally mean when open!! I just finished installing a snubber tonight - pardon our welding skills - is this too close? I would think the rubber will compress somewhat ....the only thing left to do is power polish the car then I'm putting it into the World of Wheels in Calgary. It's on Feb 19th weekend. My buddy's 68 Coronet RT is coming as well - you can see the tail end of it in one of the pictures. Also will have  67 Coronet with us too. Anyone else going?

Looking good...but you will not be happy with the snubber that close. It will hit with the slightest suspension movement. You will need about 2" of clearance at rest to start, and fine tune from there. You aren't going to get that clearance with that setup.

Looks good.  I agree with the snubber being way too close.  You will soon find out that it will bang hard against your floor.

If you installed CalTracs, I would think the snubber is excess anyway.

Thanks guys - I will remove it and cut it down. What kind of clearance should I shoot for?
