I bought a 70 Cuda and this was laying in the floor when I got it. Anybody know what it is or what it is for?

If it's not there, your transmission will leak all of it fluid first off. If it's not wired to your starter relay, your car will not start.

Ok, got it, thanks!  Have you ever heard of some type wire (I'm assuming on the transmission) that prevents the car from going into gear? Or guess I should say prevents it from driving? Because it goes into gear but will just set there. Someone said its a wire on the tranny????

The plug to the NSS controls when your reverse light are on too.

The NSS only allows the car to be started in PARK or NEUTRAL.  The starter won't engage if the car is in any other gear.  The NSS also turns on the reverse lights when the shifter is put into reverse.

There is no "wire" on the trans that would make the car not move.  There is "kickdown linkage" that goes from the carb to the trans.  That linkage increases the transmission's line pressure when you press on the gas pedal.  If the car was driven without that linkage, the trans might be hurt internally.  Check to make sure there is a NSS screwed into the trans on the drivers side.  Then, make sure the trans is full of fluid.

Well, if it was missing, I didn't want him dumping a bunch of fluid on his driveway.
